Meet Dr. Rick Tabor

Dr. Tabor traded in a previous career in genetic engineering to take up dentistry. Graduating from of the University of Pacific Dental School, SF, he has now enjoyed his profession as a dentist for over 15 years. His extensive engineering and artistic background give him a truly unique approach to dentistry.

Your work is stunning! I am so happy.
I just wanted you to know how pleased I am.
Jill Smith, Alameda, CA

His enthusiasm and friendly-yet-professional manner no doubt appeal to patients and put them at ease. The good dentist says he’s glad to have put 20 years of corporate life studying protein biochemistry behind him and is content with his new vein of work, especially the patient contact aspect of dentistry.

“Don’t hesitate,” he advises those who may be considering a career change - as long as the choice is clear “in your heart” and you have a supportive family.

After 30+ years, I still enjoy practicing dental hygiene. Since 2001, I have enjoyed being part of Dr. Tabor's team, becoming "old friends" with many patients over the years. I received a BA in psychology from the State University of New York, then trained in dental hygiene at Chabot College. When not at work, I stay fit with yoga, occasional hiking and taking long walks in New York during visits to my family there. I indulge myself by reading biographies and gourmet cookbooks and by baking cookies. To celebrate a special occasion, I may attend a performance of the San Francisco Symphony.
